How Stake Rakeback Is Calculated
For casino games, the basic calculation is:
For example, wagering $10,000 on games with a 4% house edge produces an estimated $14 in rakeback:
This means Stake's 3.5% rakeback does not mean 3.5% of your total wagering. It means 3.5% of the theoretical house edge generated by that wagering.
How to Use the Rakeback Calculator
The calculator estimates rakeback based on your wagering activity and how a casino calculates its rewards. Start by choosing Stake.com or Custom Casino mode.
- Total Wagered Enter the total amount you wagered during the period you want to calculate. If you don't know it, use the built-in bet size × number of bets option.
- Game / Bet Type In Stake mode, select Originals, slots, sportsbook or poker. You can also enter the exact house edge or RTP of a specific game for a more accurate estimate.
- House Edge or RTP House edge represents the casino's mathematical advantage. If you only know RTP, the calculator converts it automatically using House Edge = 100% − RTP.
- Rakeback Rate Stake mode automatically uses Stake's current rakeback calculation. In Custom Casino mode, enter the rakeback percentage offered by the casino you want to analyze.
Your estimated rakeback appears automatically together with the house edge, expected house-edge amount, and effective rakeback relative to your total wagering.
The result is an estimate rather than a prediction of your actual gambling result. Short-term wins and losses can differ substantially from mathematical expectations.
Stake Rakeback by Game Type
Rakeback is calculated differently depending on the type of game you play. The calculation varies across slots, sportsbook bets, Stake Originals, and poker.
For the most accurate estimate, enter the exact RTP or house edge of the game where your wagering was generated. This helps the calculator estimate your rakeback as closely as possible.
- Slots Stake rakeback is calculated as Total Wagered × House Edge × 3.5%. Slot RTP varies by game, so enter the exact RTP or house edge whenever possible for the most accurate estimate.
- Stake Originals Use the house edge shown for the specific Original you are playing. Many Stake Originals use a low house edge, commonly around 1%. The calculator then applies Stake's 3.5% rakeback rate to that house edge.
- Sportsbook Stake sportsbook rakeback uses a theoretical 3% house edge. Estimated rakeback is therefore calculated as Total Wagered × 3% × 3.5%.
- Stake Poker Poker works differently from casino games and sportsbook bets. Rakeback is calculated as 3.5% of the poker rake paid, rather than from your total wagering and a fixed house edge.
- Custom Casino Select Custom Casino mode to calculate another operator's rakeback. Enter the total wagered amount, house edge or RTP, and the casino's stated rakeback percentage.
How to Find a Game's RTP or House Edge
If you don’t know the actual RTP % value of the game you play, there is an easy solution to it — Stake provides detailed information for each casino game it offers.
To find the exact house edge, open the game, scroll down to the Game Insights section, and check the Description tab for the game’s listed house edge.
Some other crypto casinos provide a similar information box within the game details, while others unfortunately do not display RTP or house-edge data for every title.
How Crypto Casino Rakeback Works
Rakeback is a loyalty reward that returns part of the value generated through a player’s betting activity. The exact calculation varies between casinos: some base rewards on wagering volume, while others use theoretical losses, house edge, actual losses, or rake.
This is why two casinos advertising the same headline “5% rakeback” can provide very different effective rewards. Always check what the percentage is applied to, not just the advertised rate.
How to Compare Rakeback Offers
Because rakeback can be calculated differently by each casino, it’s important to understand the exact terms that determine how rewards are calculated, earned, and claimed.
- What the percentage applies to A headline rakeback percentage can be misleading without context. Check whether it applies to total wagering, house edge, rake, losses, or another calculation base.
- VIP requirements Some casinos reserve rakeback for loyalty-program members, meaning new players may need to reach a required wagering level before rewards begin accumulating.
- Game weighting Different game types may contribute differently. Some casinos calculate rewards using the actual house edge, while others apply fixed weighting or treat eligible games equally.
- Maximum rewards Check whether the casino places a daily, weekly, monthly, or promotional cap on the amount of rakeback you can receive.
- Claim frequency Rakeback may be available instantly, daily, weekly, or only after reaching specific account or reward thresholds.
- Reward expiry Some rakeback rewards remain available until claimed, while others may expire after a certain period. Always check the current claiming terms.
Stake Rakeback Calculator FAQ
How is Stake rakeback calculated?
For most Stake casino games, rakeback is calculated from your total wagering and the house edge of the game. The basic formula is Total Wagered × House Edge × 3.5%. For example, $10,000 wagered on a game with a 4% house edge produces an estimated $14 in rakeback. The 3.5% rate therefore does not mean you receive 3.5% of your total wagering back.
Does RTP affect Stake rakeback?
Yes. RTP determines the theoretical house edge of a casino game. A game with 96% RTP has a 4% house edge, while a game with 99% RTP has a 1% house edge. Because Stake casino rakeback is linked to house edge, the same wagering amount can produce different estimated rakeback on games with different RTP values.
How does Stake sportsbook rakeback work?
Stake calculates sportsbook rakeback using a theoretical 3% house edge and returns 3.5% of that theoretical value. For example, $10,000 in eligible sportsbook wagering produces an estimated $10.50 in rakeback. Voided and cashed-out sports bets are not eligible for rakeback.
How do I calculate Stake rakeback if I played several games?
Calculate the wagering from each game separately using its own house edge or RTP, then add the estimated rakeback amounts together. This is more accurate than applying one average house edge to your entire wagering volume, especially if you play a mixture of slots, Stake Originals, sportsbook bets, or other games with different calculation inputs.
When does Stake rakeback become available and how do I claim it?
Stake rakeback normally becomes available when you reach Bronze VIP, which currently requires $10,000 in wagering. Stake also allows eligible new players to unlock rakeback earlier by entering a valid affiliate code within the applicable welcome-offer period. DTB does not currently provide a Stake rakeback or promotional code. Once rakeback is available, you can claim it from the VIP page under the Rakeback tab.
Is it worth wagering more to earn additional rakeback?
Rakeback should not be a reason to increase your wagering. Betting more may generate more rakeback, but it also increases the amount of money exposed to the house edge. Treat rakeback as an additional reward on wagering you were already comfortable making, stay within your bankroll, and never risk more than you can afford to lose.
